A mobile dance production for primary schools
The world of plants and animals in the mobile dance production ‘Karkerou’ is fascinating and mysterious. All living creatures build their very own worlds there and cleverly adapt to their surroundings. Above all, the animals and plants talk to one another here. However, we humans can often only guess at what they are saying to one another.
Together with two dancers, the young audience in ‘Karkerou’ embarks on a dynamic journey of discovery. What creatures will they encounter? Are they shy and hiding? Or are they all excited and scurrying about? Do they make strange sounds? Perhaps they’ll freeze in place or change their shape? Many things only seem a bit strange at first glance; in reality, everything is quite different from what you might think!
The mobile dance piece “Karkerou” comes directly to the children at school and transforms the familiar space into a vibrant, resonant world. Dance, music and sound interact with the children. A vibrant soundscape accompanies the dance journey and opens up spaces for curiosity and imagination. The children sit close to the dancers, right in the thick of the action, and can change seats at certain moments to experience the piece from a new perspective time and again.
‘Karkerou’ is an invitation to embark on an artistic journey and to gently engage with emotions from one’s own everyday life. The children enter a new space: sometimes it takes courage, sometimes restraint, sometimes patience. It often feels better to simply observe at first, before finding one’s own way into it.
