New discourse series: ‘Structures that bring young co-creators into (cultural-)institutions’

Our new three-part online discourse series on the structural participation of young people in artistic processes starts on 6 March. The focus is on the question: How can children and young people be involved not only as spectators but also as active co-creators of cultural programmes in the field of dance and the performing arts?

The series kicks off with the discourse ‘VISION CO-DETERMINATION – Children and young people as creators.’ Fabian Brenner (process facilitator) and Dominic Glöß will use the example of the Riesa city council’s child and youth participation concept to discuss the framework conditions and structures needed to anchor child and youth participation in the performing arts.

In the following sessions on 3 April 2025 and 15 May 2025, we will focus on the topics ‘SELF-MANAGEMENT-SPACES – self-administration by children and young people’ and ‘ACTION METHODS – Paths to self-empowerment’.
