Jenny Beyer

Jenny Beyer studied at the Hamburg Ballet School and the Rotterdamse Dansacademie. Her work, which is mainly anchored at Kampnagel and K3 Tanzplan Hamburg, stands for the inclusion and engagement of audience members through regular open rehearsals. Jenny Beyer already put the emphasis on collaborative work with the international artist initiative Sweet&Tender Collaborations, which she co-founded in 2007, and the project “Treffen Total” that followed from it in 2010, which now includes 30 artists. In 2007 she was resident choreographer at K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg. Since then she has produced 11 touring pieces, which have been shown at the Spring Dance Festival/Utrecht and the Impulstanz Festival/Vienna, among others, and co-produced with Kampnagel Hamburg and the Theater Freiburg. Immanent in her choreographic work is the unpredictable quality of showing oneself in the moment of performance, which makes the written choreography tangible in the encounter with the audience. She has been the choreographer of the Hamburg band Deichkind since 2012.
