explore dance at the 1st Tanztriennale in Hamburg

The Tanztriennale will take place for the first time in Hamburg from 14 to 21 June 2026. This flagship project, initiated by the German Federal Cultural Foundation, is being realised jointly by the Hamburg Ballett, Kampnagel and K3 – Centre for Choreography | Tanzplan Hamburg.

Under the motto “Brave Moves. Courageous Joy”, this inaugural edition will showcase current trends in contemporary dance and bring national and international artists to the stages of the Hanseatic city. The Tanztriennale is aimed at both dance professionals and the general public, inviting people to watch, participate, engage in conversation – and, of course, to dance.

We are delighted that explore dance will be represented with two pop-up performances:

WUW – Wind und Wand by the artist collective ZINADA and Tie Break by Constantin Trommlitz. The pieces will be performed at schools in Hamburg as part of the festival. The dates will be announced shortly.
