Diego Tortelli

Diego Tortelli studied first at the STUDIO 76 in Brescia, then at the National Academy of Dance in Rome and finally at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala. He began his career in Valencia, with the Ballet de Teatres being then invited by Gustavo Ramirez to join the Luna Negra Chicago company. In 2012 he joined Le Ballet National de Marseille/ Frédéric Flamand. Since 2015 he has worked as a freelancer for the Munich Opera, The Bakery, Richard Siegal/ Ballet of Difference, Korzo Theater, La Veronal. His work as a choreographer led him to create: Descamino de Dosfor INTRODANS and Compañía Nacional de Danza Madrid together with Mattia Russo, later he created Recapitulofor MCA (Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago), We are all sanpaku with the musician Emanuele Maniscalco, Carmen Suite for EKO Dance Project, Vox multitudinis for the Teatro Massimo of Palermo, Vitreae Vultus and Pasipahe for the festival MILANoLTRE, Cursus for Palcoscenico Danza Torino Festival also for the EKO Dance Project. In 2017 he created a contemporay version of Sleeping Beauty for the BALLETTO DI TOSCANA JUNIOR. He is currently working on Lorca sono tutti for MILANoLTRE 2018 and Domus Aurea for the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/ Aterballetto. He will also present new full-evening works for the Festival MILANoLTRE 2019 and 2020.
