Imagine a classroom whose walls are becoming porous. Suddenly, there are holes. Unexpected things can enter, and others can go out. The room starts to pulse and expand. The familiar order of things and activities inside becomes unhinged.
For the duration of the performance, the classroom turns into a choreographic toolbox. To do this, we start with exactly what you know and what is already there: your classroom – with all its objects, the people, and the activities inside it. Sitting, standing up, raising your hand, and many other daily routines and movements in the classroom form the matrix. What choreographies emerge from these activities?
What fantastic landscapes can arise from the classroom? What movements do these new landscapes invite?
This is how the classroom becomes a gallery of sculptures. Turning a page in a textbook turns into a dance.
We are living in a time that creates a lot of uncertainty within us. By breaking down the structures we know and creating new ones, we want to remind ourselves that there are always many paths. We want to remember that we can actively help shape a space and its possibilities.
