Building long-term partnerships with local partner schools and educational programs is an essential part of explore dance. Every city cooperates locally with different partners from the field of aesthetic education and mediation and in doing so creates access to contemporary dance for as many children and teenagers as possible. Workshops, visits to rehearsals and performances, feedback sessions, as well as associated formats such as introductions and follow-up talks give children and teenagers the chance to participate both in the development of a piece, as well as in its reception. Opening the creative working process allows for an exchange of experience between artists, pedagogues and young audience, while also communicating artistic practices in contemporary dance. The pop-up productions created and presented at schools or public places beyond the stage, moreover produce a special visibility of contemporary dance in the school context.
